Dear Members and Industry Friends,

Greetings from SACEOS! It has been a tremendous year of recovery for the MICE industry since its reopening.

As the voice of the industry, SACEOS has been unwavering in our engagement with government and media to amplify the role of MICE in Singapore’s economic recovery. We are proud to say that our Association and industry’s profile has been raised over the past 3 years.

As a members-led association, we are always finding ways to better understand the needs of our members and industry. And through our Members Satisfaction Survey, we found out that Networking and Advocacy are the key priorities of our members.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

Staying true to our commitment in meeting our members’ needs, we delivered a strong line-up of networking and industry events over the past year.

Training and education remain one of the key pillars at SACEOS. And SACEOS continues to be the leading training provider for the industry and is constantly refreshing our courses to ensure they remain relevant. Download our Course Calendar here.

To help the industry better attract young talent, we launched the MICE Internship Best Practice Guidelines in April. It aims to provide a framework to both employers and students in ensuring a positive and meaningful internship.

Last but not least, SACEOS is leading the industry’s efforts towards a more sustainable future. We launched the MICE Sustainability Roadmap in December last year to galvanise the industry in its sustainability efforts. In March, we developed a national guidelines for Waste Management in partnership with the Singapore Standards Council, which was followed by the first MICE Waste Management workshop in April. And in partnership with NTUC LearningHub, the first Sustainability in MICE Workshop was launched May to help industry players kickstart their sustainability journeys.

WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO

More than just networking and industry events, Sustainability will be at the core of everything we do at SACEOS as we look to build a greener and more sustainable future for the industry.

SACEOS members can look forward to more sustainability initiatives and programmes. For example, to provide global sustainability standards for the industry, the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), with support from STB, is developing a new Criteria for MICE. And SACEOS is working with STB to provide feedback, consultation, and industry expertise for the draft Criteria.

The industry can also look forward to an upcoming Workshop Agreement for Carbon and Energy Management, aimed to support the sustainable transformation of the MICE industry. Do look out for more Sustainability initiatives and resources here.

The key event for SACEOS this year is the Singapore MICE Forum. After a 3-year hiatus, the industry’s choice thought-leadership event is returning on 26-28 July. Join us as we come together as an industry to address key topics such as Talent, Sustainability, Innovation and New Business Models. 

As part of the SMF, the first ever Singapore MICE Awards will also take place to celebrate the best of our industry.  The Singapore MICE Challenge will also be making a comeback to uncover new talent and ideas for the next generation of events. 

Last but not least, the Asia CEO Summit will be happening on 3-5 October as it gathers global and regional industry leaders to advance the growth of the region’s industry.

It’s set to be a truly exciting year for the MICE industry. And with the industry gaining momentum is its growth this year and beyond, there has never been a better time to be part of the leading association for MICE.
