In this week’s SG SafeEvent Certification Spotlight, we speak to Vivienne Ho, Regional Head of Events & Partnerships of Now Events Pte Ltd as she shares her organisation’s journey in becoming SG SafeEvent Certified and how the programme will help the MICE & Events industry provide a sense of assurance to all attendees.

1. What inspired you to be SG SafeEvent certified? 

The hard truth of this pandemic is that it hit us fast & by surprise; as an industry, we weren’t prepared enough, fast enough.  As we move towards the re-opening of events, SG SafeEvent Certification not only helps validate organisers to have the highest standards of Safe Event practices in place, to be COVID-19 resilient; it also endorses a vote of assurance & confidence for our clients & attendees that their onsite safety is not compromised.

2. How was the journey in the programme?

Attending the SACEOS SG SafeEvent Certification Preparatory course before the application was a tremendous help. Gave us quick Onboarding info, step by step guide on how to go about the EDG grant application & what to expect for the auditing process. It wasn’t as cumbersome or tedious as we thought it would be, and the certifying auditing process was unexpectedly a very fun learning experience for the team as well. 

3. Why would you recommend other companies to come onboard? 

To help move forward the MICE industry in Singapore, with more companies certified also help to boost a swifter & Safer return of In-person events.  Let’s drive this together SG MICE!
