KEY FOCUS AREAS FOR SACEOS 43RD EXCO

SACEOS held its first 43rd Executive Committee Meeting on 13 April 2022 at the Marina Bay Sands to discuss the key focus areas for the new term and to support the reopening of the MICE and Events industry in Singapore.

With the announcement of the lifting of  capacity limits for all event sizes from 26 April 2022, we are hopeful that 2022 will be a year of recovery for the MICE and Events industry and a more normalised environment.

As part of our efforts to be a 100% member-led association and to understand how we can better serve the SACEOS community, we also conducted a Membership Satisfaction Survey in February 2022.

We truly appreciate the feedback from our members which will be invaluable in helping us improve our value proposition as an association.

Guided by the members feedback, Richard Ireland, SACEOS President, outlined the key focus areas for SACEOS in the 43rd term.

1) Re-opening and recovery
This is undoubtedly the key priority for our members and industry. And we will continue to engage the relevant agencies to push for a more normalised and business friendly environment for MICE events – both B2B and B2C.

2) Professional Development and talent attraction to our industry
Our industry remains an attractive and inclusive proposition. Our ability to attract talent will be vital in helping shape the recovery curve of the industry and meet the workforce needs in the resumption of events.

3) Be the key voice of industry discussions
As the national trade association for the industry, we remain unwavering in our commitment to be the voice of impact in conversations with stakeholders such as government agencies, industry partners and the media.

4) Sustainability
As one of the key challenges and priorities for the industry, SACEOS will work with members and industry partners to develop a sustainability framework and standards that works for all stakeholders in our MICE eco-system.

5) Continued Dialogue
SACEOS will continue to engage in dialogues and collaborate with local agencies as well as regional and global counterparts to share insights, data and innovation.

6) Peer-to-peer networking
As we move into a more normalised environment in 2022 with easing of restrictions for events, SACEOS looks forward to organising more physical events for the community to reconnect and forge new business opportunities.

Once again, thank you for your continued support and we look forward to working with all of you this year.
