The Security for MICE Events Managing Cyber & Physical Security in the Modern World consist of two components: Managing Events Physical Security Risks & Managing Events Cybersecurity and Data Privacy.  

Managing Events Cybersecurity and Data Privacy is designed especially for MICE employees. The objective is to manage and assess Cyber security risks and apply counter measure at an Event. It comprises of a one full day or 7 hours of a facilitated workshop. There are 5 modules that covers all the essential elements of the cybersecurity compliance requirements are, basic concepts of Cybersecurity, the requirements of the MICE industry, the good practices of Cybersecurity for MICE, provisions of Data Privacy and compliance requirements and the practicing the Cyber and Data Privacy hygiene habits.

Managing Events Physical Security Risks specifies the knowledge and skills required for event organisers, MICE professionals, show producers, logistics operations professionals, event service professionals including venue owners and managers to prepare them to assess and address issues concerning event security.


Upon completion of the course, participants will be awarded 12 Continuing Education (CE) clock hours1. These hours can be used in either the Application or Recertification processs of the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) programme.

Learning Objectives

The purpose of the programme is to:

  • Assess security requirements for the event;
  • Conduct a security site assessment of the event venue;
  • Address security deficiencies;
  • Gain understanding of the basic concepts of Cybersecurity & provisions of the PDPA in contect of a typical MICE event;
  • Identify the security and privacy compliance gaps at a typical MICE Event;
  • Evaluate the good practices of Cybersecurity that fits the requirements of the MICE event.
  • Adopt the hygiene habits to address the security and compliance gaps.

  • The MICE sector and the elements of security
  • Cybersecurity problems and solutions 
  • Data Privacy and legal compliance
  • Practicing cyber hygiene and data privacy at workplace
