About the CEM Learning Programme

The Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation is a globally recognized designation that demonstrates the highest professional standard throughout the exhibition and event management arena. It was first created in 1975 to raise professional standards in the event industry and it continues to be the premier mark of professional achievement.

The CEM designation accommodates short and long-term career goals with education that can be tailored to meet specific needs and interests. The designation is obtained by completion of nine modules offered in classroom format. The CEM Learning Programme is offered in the United States, Canada, Brazil, China, Dubai, Korea, Mexico, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Recertification is required every three years after the initial program is completed to maintain the certification1.

Upon completion of each CEM module, participants are awarded 06 Continuous Education (CE) clock hours. These hours can be used in either the Application or Recertification processs of the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) programme.

 

Why CEM?

Today more than 2,500 active CEMs around the world make up the CEM Network which serves as a leading channel for communication, ideas, thought leadership, industry recognition and promotion.

The CEM Learning Programme’s comprehensive course of study information is based on a Curriculum Blueprint that is composed of the essential concepts required of a professional in the Exhibition and Event management industry. It’s an education programme first and a designation program second so students can take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to their careers after their first class.

 

CEM Modules offered by SACEOS

The CEM modules offered by SACEOS includes the following 9 modules which have to be completed within a 3-year period in order to attain the CEM designation. The modules are:

  • Event Marketing (EM) Module
  • Event Operations (EO) Module
  • Exhibition and Event Sales (EES) Module
  • Strategic Planning and Management (SPM) Module
  • Floor Plan Development (FPD) Module
  • Facility and Site Selection (FSS) Module
  • Security, Risk and Crisis Management (SRCM) Module
  • Selecting Service Contractors (SSC) Module
  • Conference and Meeting Management (CMM) Module

 

Programme Fees

Purchase of Single Module or Modules in 3s

SACEOS Members: SGD 428.00 nett per module (SGD 400.00 after 7% GST per module)

Non-Members: SGD 513.60 nett per module (SGD 480.00 after 7% GST per module)
 

Purchase of a Full 9-module Package

SACEOS Members: SGD 3,466.80 nett (SGD 3,240.00 after 7% GST)

Non-Members: SGD 4,160.15 nett (SGD 3,888.00 after 7% GST)

 

Funding Available

  • e2i Professional Development Grant

The e2i Professional Development Grant funds up to SGD 105.00 per CEM module per eligible course participant. Only applies to Singaporeans/PRs and only available for a limited period of time.
